Learn to recognize your limits and take care of yourself
Your mental health is just as important as anyone else’s.
Learn to recognize when you’re struggling, devote some time to self-care and reach out for help when you need it.
We all know that being there for other people can be difficult at times so it’s going to be really important to make sure that you’re being there for yourself too. That means, definitely be checking in, making sure to see, “Am I stressed? Am I struggling?” and going out and doing the things that fill you back up. For me, it’s going out, getting some fresh air and taking a walk, but sometimes that’s not going to be enough. Sometimes you might have to reach out for help from a friend or a family member, maybe even a professional, and that’s ok. It’s also alright to take a step back if you’re in a difficult conversation because at the end of the day, your mental health is as important as anybody else’s.
